Tom Hardy was filming Rocknrolla in 2008, when director Guy Ritchie’s then wife Madonna came on set. In the face of meeting an idol, rather than running at her like a bunch of Justin Bieber fans, he hid from her!

“She left me starstruck. I did what anyone who can’t deal with the situation does: I went and hid in the Range Rover,” the 32 year old actor said.

Hardy has been gaining more and more success since his Rocknrolla days, even appearing in the early Star Trek film. His amazing performance in Inception really got the ladies going. Its hard to imagine the suave actor having any nerves around Madonna.

“I was sort of prepping for the scene in there and someone said hello
to me and it was her – she’d somehow managed to get into the back of it!” Hardy continued.

“Then we had a conversation, which I’ve completely blacked out because
there she was like the Mother Mary in the boot (back) of the f**king
Range Rover and I was completely starstruck.”

Tom doesn’t seem that shy now, what with his recent sexually charged internet photos and his omission to playing both sides of the gender fence. But apparently, at the time he met Madonna he wasn’t into her sexually. Seen here directing her new film ‘W.E.’ in the south of France, Hardy saw Madonna as a mother figure rather than a sex pot.

“She’s just
someone’s mum to me and she looks like a ghost. I didn’t see her as a
sexual creature. There was a time when I really would’ve gone there but
since (she appeared in) the Justin Timberlake video, leaping over cars
and things, I just think: ‘Enough now.’”
