It was a slow week if I ever saw one. The debt ceiling took up the most of this week’s conversation and the only saving grace of the 24-hour news cycle was about the host of Jeopardy.
What about that old guy, you ask? Hah. Well, Alex Trebek was staying in a San Francisco hotel room when he was robbed. He chased the burglar down and ended up breaking his Achilles tendon. It was also revealed that he sleeps in the nude. Fun (especially at 71)!
In this week’s roundup: new pics of the Biebs’ tattoo (above with Selena Gomez), Twitter mishaps and an explanation of the Internet from 1995. Click the read more link below to check it out!
Last week, we lost Amy Winehouse. It wasn’t all that surprising, but still sad nonetheless. What was more surprising? How insensitive Microsoft was when it came to using Twitter. They tweeted the following “ad” and then later apologized for it.
It’s been said that you can do pretty much whatever you want in an Apple store. So this guy tried it. He tried to get kicked out by ordering a pizza, dressing up as Darth Vader and even tagging a goat along. But all the guys and gals at the Genius Bar just laughed and didn’t even bat an eyelash.
It’s strange to think the Internet wasn’t really around 20 years ago. Like, this weekly column wouldn’t even exist if not for the antics that go on online. Here’s a video of the guys over at MTV talking about it in 1995.
And MTV strikes again. It seems back in the day (pre Jersey Shore) the network created a show called Bridge & Tunnel about the antics of young people who live in Staten Island. It was never broadcast, but here’s a trailer. Look familiar? Would you guys have watched it?
Speaking of ink, The Daily Mail obtained a photo of Justin Bieber and his dad Jeremy getting matching tattoos. We’ve already seen Justin’s Hebrew tattoo meaning Jesus, but a new shirtless pic is always appreciated.
Wal-Mart is a very American thing. These two Brits went to a Wal-Mart in California and made a video about all the confusing things they found (Ham and Cheese slices, Buzz Lightyear Operation, etc.). It’s hilarious. Watch it right now.
