Tis the season! I love Christmas, and one of my favorite this to do, besides watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, is witness the lighting of the tree at Rockafellar Center. Each year, Swarovski reveals a specially-designed 9.5 foot, 550 pound star bejeweled with over 25,000 crystals that sits on top of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. This year has something special to add even more glamor to the event; celebrity designed miniature stars will be unveiled as well!
Hollywood celebrities such as Tyra Banks, Brooke Shields, Teri Hatcher, Dakota Fanning, Jamie Lee Curtis and others all have stars that will be auctioned off to raise money for Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation. Starlight is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children who have chronic and life threatening medical conditions. Starlight helps these families by providing education, entertainment, and family events. The lighting of the tree will take place on November 29 at 8:59 p.m. where guests can bask in the glow of the 25,000 Swarovski crystals that will light up the Manhattan skyline!
