Remember him? He sang “Follow Me” and was part of Kid Rock’s drinking crew or something. I had a crush on him until he started looking like the FHA Bake Sale chaperone. He got busted early this morning on a sex offense.
Kid Rock’s former DJ, who also had a double platinum selling album of his own a few years back, was arrested and charged with a second-degree forcible sex offense outside Raleigh, North Carolina this morning.
Uncle Kracker, aka 33-year-old Matthew Shafer, was busted by Raleigh police at an Embassy Suites hotel around 4:45 AM.
No details of what he allegedly did were available. But if it’s 4 AM at a hotel motel Holiday Inn, it can’t be pretty. He’s currently being held on 5 million dollars bond, and will face the judge on Friday. Follow me…to jail! Ok, that was corny. Kid, come collect your rapist! Sorry – 5 mil means something bad went down.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Uncle Kracker, a former DJ for Kid Rock, was arrested early today on a second-degree sex offense charge, authorities said.
Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue said a 26-year-old woman alleged that a man had committed a sexual act against her at the Ess Lounge, a downtown nightclub.
Kracker, 33, was arrested at a hotel in Cary, N.C. He was being held at the Wake County Jail on a $5-million bond, Sughrue said.
Sughrue said police had obtained a warrant charging Kracker with second-degree forcible sex offense.
Kracker, whose real name is Matthew Shafer, was to appear in court this afternoon, said Wake County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Phyllis Stevens.
A message left with his listed agency in Nashville, Tenn., wasn’t immediately returned, and a phone number for his listed management company in Harrison Township was disconnected.

Anywhoo…the bail was so his because he was considered a “flight risk”. It’s been reduced to 75,000 last i read.
