I still have no idea who this gal is, but hurrah for her. Sherri Shepard has been announced as the fifth permanent co-host of “The View” starting on Sept. 10.
“It’s her!” a source tells PEOPLE, adding that Shepherd will appear on Monday’s show for the highly anticipated announcement from co-host Barbara Walters.
Showbiz insiders have long suspected that Shepherd would link with new co-host Whoopi Goldberg alongside Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck for the 11th season of the weekday show.
It was previously reported that Shepard might have been making a fuss because she wanted the money that Whoopi was getting. Which would account for why she wasn’t announced as co-host until now. I’m sorry, who are you? Whoopi was the bartender on “Star Trek” (!) and you were…what the hell were you on? I’m sure you were someone’s sassy neighbor on some sit-com that lasted two weeks or something. Count your blessings, sweetheart.

Miss Shepard had a re-occuring role on Jamie Fox’s sitcom back in the day playing Fancy (Garcelle B’s girlfriend)….Nothing spectacular about her, her acting sucks and her comedy is dry and she talks way too much but hey she’s hit the jackpot now…..Kudos on that…can’t knock a sistah for hitting it big.

The only reason she is unknown to you is because she isn’t driving around with coke in her pocket are showing her underware to everyone. Sherri is a very talented and funny young lady and The View needs what she can offer, a little comic relief not just scarcasm from Ms. Behr

I love Sherri!! She was on a television series for a while, can’t remember the name though. She is a fantastic person – so down to earth! Glad she got the job and hopefully will give Barbara a run for her money!

She was on “Less Than Perfect.” She’s moved from that show to “Quite A Bit Less Than Perfect.”
There’s no real qualifications for being on “The View” as Elisabeth proves daily, so I’m sure she’ll be fine.

She was on Less Than Perfect and funny as hell, but the funniest show I remember her from is on Everybody Loves Raymond as Robert’s cop partner. She always had the funniest lines. Look up some of her many appearances on ellen.

agreed. fantastic choice. this gal’s funny and a straight shooter. even if you don’t agree with what she says, at least she says what she means. lots of name-calling and whatnot going on — give it a rest. none of us know her or what her motivations are. tv is entertainment folks…. if you aren’t entertained, CHANGE THE CHANNEL. happy friday!

Why would Sherri believe in Evolution? She’s a Christian. Duh!!!!!! She doesn’t believe mankind evolved from a monkey and neither do I. She can have her views as much as Joy Behar, who regularly bashes religion and accepts everything and lives with a guy for over 20 years because her first husband didn’t want her anymore and she was crushed by the divorce, so now she’s a big ol scaredy-cat!

She was on “30 Rock” once as the wife of Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan). It was a pretty funny bit, but I had no idea who she was.
I did see her on “The View” several times (I watched every single day when Rosie was hosting.) I didn’t realize it was her until she mentioned it.
She seems like a decent person so I hate to say it, but she was not at all funny on “The View”. In fact she kind of annoyed me. She had sort of a holier than thou attitude that I don’t care for.
Hopefully she and Whoopi will have a good rapport and they will both have a successful run on “The View”.

Natasha what are you saying? Ms Shepherd acts holier than thou? Because she believes in things like the Bible and creation?
Only a person who lives COMPLETELY the opposite of holy would take offense to her. I watched Sherri many times and she’s not being fake or pious. She revealed a lot of her troubles, such as her man cheating on her and getting another woman pregnant.
It’s amazing how people get so offended by others who are just trying to live an honorable life.
