Who knew that Usher was so obsessed with Vegas? The R&B singer has been living at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Vegas for the past few months putting the finishing touches on his new album, Monster. According to the Las Vegas Sun, Usher and his entourage took over the entire third floor and worked on the tracks for the CD in the recording studio at the hotel.
Usher refers to the palms as his “home-away-from-home” so it was only appropriate he have a party there to celebrate his cover on Vegas Magazine‘s men’s issue.” I came here to Vegas to close out the album and we did our last few sessions last night,” he said on his way into the Vegas Magazine. “Within the next few weeks — few days — we’re going to be finished with it.” He also pointed out that, “Most of the album was recorded here.”
For Usher, living and working in the same place was convenient because he could go to the recording studio any time he felt the inspiration. “On this album, the influences came from places I’ve gone myself, the reality of circumstances of choice.” Since the album comes two months after he filed for divorce from his wife of two years, Tameka Foster, you can definitely expect this to be a more intimate album.” Through all of your situations, you learn something, or you should learn something. Well, I’m documenting it in that way.”
I’m actually quite excited about this album. I was never a big fan of Usher’s super clubby stuff, but I did like when he got more intimate. Hopefully this will be even more awesome. I mean, he so nice when it’s just him at the mic. Remember his Michael Jackson memorial performance? I totally cried. You know you did too.
