All the most glittery stars came out for the Valentino: The Last Emperor premiere in New York City last night. The documentary outlines Valentino‘s last two years as the head of his own label before officially retiring in 2008.

Fashion-wise, Gwyneth Paltrow behaved herself and opted for a flattering calf-length dress and a normal pair of open-toed, black heels. Valentino would’ve said good bye to his six pugs and croaked into a pile of red satin, had she worn those heinous, high-waisted garbage bag shorts.

Anne Hathaway, who was featured in the film, stuck to her new favorite color white and wore a stylish one-shoulder dress. Even model Agyness Deyn cleaned up and looked elegant in oversized jewelry and a honey blond bob.
