Dreamy Cam Gigandet was accompanied by his cat-eyed Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart at a photocall for Crepusculo. Also in attendance was the film’s director Catherine Hardwicke.

Gigandet recently chatted with MTV Canada about the role shirtlessness played in his portrayal of James, the tracker vampire who sets off on a quest for Bella Swan. According to the actor, the idea was one that Hardwicke came up with. And she’s happy she did! Just look at that smile on her face.

“I never like to [take my shirt off], because I’m just as insecure as everyone else in the world. But you’ve just gotta take the good with the bad, I guess,” Gigandet revealed. It doesn’t look like it was too bad–except for that ponytail.
