Victoria Beckham made a joke on Twitter before showing her Spring 2013 collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week yesterday (September 9th).

Beckham’s hard work paid off, because everyone from Elle to the Guardian and back to Grazia applauded her presentation.
“Victoria Beckham’s gone for a fresh and fun direction this season,” Grazia‘s Katherine Ormerod reported from New York. ”While we’re used to seeing sophisticated knee-length, structured sheaths from the designer, for Spring Summer ’13, it’s all about the short and flippy hemlines, tennis-inspired skirts and sporty aesthetic.”
After taking her bow on stage, the designer couldn’t help tearing up backstage. ”I’m not a crier,” she said, according to HELLO! ”It was just such an emotional collection for me.”
Harper Beckham walked the runway ahead of mom’s Sunday show at the New York Public library, then joined Beckham backstage post-show with dad David Beckham.
