Over the past two years Jared Leto and his band, 30 Seconds to Mars, have been through a battle. They tried to break up with their label, EMI/Virgin, were sued by their label, publicly protested against their label, and then crawled back to resign with their label. (Remember when Jared Leto was an actor and he used to break up with Scarlett Johansen and Cameron Diaz?)
After the struggle it’s probably not only fitting that their third album is called This is War, but it’s also probably a middle finger to Virgin. During the conflict, Leto found solace in making the record.
“There were so many outside influences that were in conflict that work on the record was actually quite peaceful. It was a case of survival, to tell the truth.” At the same time Leto describes the experience as strangely suicidal. “We were literally having to kill ourselves at times. I had it written on the wall: Kill yourself to finish.’” (Literally, Jared? I don’t think you literally understand what that word means.)
Leto’s whole descent into a rocker character seemed ridiculous and fake to a lot of people in the industry. But the bands won some awards and sold something like 2 million records according to Leto. Will you give this album a chance?

Will YOU give Jared Leto a chance?
Will YOU give Jared Leto a chance?
He is my fav celebrity of all celebrity in the world. I love his work and talent. New album is something amazing. And yes I will give him a chance cuz he deserves it, unlike some overrated famous people.

Ahh, tabloid journalism, once again behaving like the mean girls in high school. I bet you call yourself an investigative journalist, too.
If you were a real journalist, you would research for an article like this. If you researched Jared Leto and the EMI lawsuit, you would find that 30 Seconds to Mars had strong and valid reasons for trying to free themselves from EMI.
But that angle doesn’t sell tabloid rags, does it? Smarmy remarks do. Embellishing and innuendo does. Lying does.
So, ask yourself this, tabloid-journo; Would you say the things you’ve said here, to Jared, if he was sitting in front of you?
“and though no premiere date is known”
Did you really write that on November 13?
The video premiered on Myspace November 12 at midnight (NYC time)
I just don’t get people sometimes. You don’t come to a website like socialitelife to read fact and great journalism. It’s a gossip website. Half the stuff is made up. Anyway, Jared Leto is a bit of a tool.
I don’t care what anybody says against Jared, he’s the best singer/songwriter/musician/actor/director (and that’s just to name a few) I’ve ever heard of and I hope that he keeps on making terrific music and movies til the day he dies, and no one has the right to say anything against 30 seconds to mars’ lawsuit with EMI/Virgin records because no one apart from 30 seconds to mars and EMI/Virgin records knows what happened. They’re a fantastic band and fantastic people and everyone just needs to give them a break – end of story.
People have rights to their own opinions on things, and we all agree and disagree on a matter of things… But, give Jared a chance. He’s strongly passionate about his music career, something he loves and puts all of his energy into. I am a big fan of his music, and honestly only like a couple of his films such as Alexander (Jared, the role you played in this movie was phenomenal and so is your music!)
Instead of finding famous people to pick on, just go and journal about cars or something stupid.
Famous peeps are human as well, they have feelings you know so give the guy a goddamn break.

I dont think its a question of “giving him a chance” but seeing his creativity which is both music AND film, with the band’s creative skills = an absolute phenomenon. I’m definently going to see them in concert ;D
Hi, i think this one is not sounding from the beginning to the end; seems like somebody who does not like them wrote it.
People have right to say something about others, but this is not well reasoned about what is the point.
I’d definitely go to buy a CD and am looking forward to see their concert.
ARE YOU KIDDING??? I dont think YOU understand what Jared Leto stands for or 30 SECONDS TO Mars For that matter and until you do Maybe you should stick to writting what you do understand
