The hysteria over the trilogy 50 Shades of Grey is at an all time high. With all three books in the series on the New York Times Best Seller List in both print and e-book categories, the race is on to see who in Hollywood will be a part of the film adaptation.
For those of you that don’t know what this series is all about, basically all you need to know is that is runs the line between erotic and pornographic and it’s target audience is mothers. The book many are calling “mommy porn” follows 21 year-old Anastasia Steele on the ride of her life; a slightly older business man (he’s a billionaire) named Christian Grey. Grey has the tendency to enjoy S&M and kinky sex in the bedroom, which explains the controversy surrounding the novel itself and now the soon to be made movie series.
Author and screenwriter Brett Easton Ellis has officially thrown his hat in the ring to write the movie adaptation, and has directors and actors in mind. For those who were questioning how serious he is, he tweeted, “Completely committed to adapting Fifty Shades of Grey. This is not a joke. Christian Grey and Ana: potentially great cinematic characters.”
Universal and Focus Features beat out the competitors to purchase the rights to the trilogy. The sum of money Universal dropped for this racy trilogy has not been released. If Brett Easton Ellis is chosen to screen write the first novel then Universal will not have much more work to do, the writer already has his dream team chosen. His director of choice would be David Cronenberg, best known for directing A Dangerous Method and Cosmopolis. It has also been rumored that Angelina Jolie will have some part in directing the film, although both Universal and Angelina’s people deny those reports.
And for the roles of the actors? Big names such as Alexander Skarsgard, Aaron Johnson or Ryan Gosling have been thrown around to play the role of Christian Grey. The leading ladies fit to play the role of Ana? Particular attention has been paid to Scarlett Johansson and Kristen Stewart.
In the end, only time will tell who will make up the directing team and cast of this epic trilogy.

Ryan Gosling as Christian
and
Emily VanCamp as Ana
please!
Scarlett way too old !
ian somerhalder all the way.he played some very kinky roles.he can play a good guy then turn bad.hes just an awesome actor and if you read the books hes the perfect christian grey.as for anna i think Kristin Stewart would fit the role.
I wish I could play Anastasia Steele. It would be a dream come true.
I think Paul Walker would make one hot Christian!!!
Jessie pavelka as christian and Natalie portman as Ana!!
Michael Fassbender (with darker hair) as Christian Grey and Rooney Mara (with the softer look she had before “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as Anastasia Steele. It needs to be lesser known actors/actresses so that we can sink our teeth into Christian and Ana’s story rather than Ryan Gosling and Scarlett Johannson play two different characters.
Please not Kristen Stewart…she is not even close to the Ana Steele I invisioned…and Rooney Mara is nasty…sorry Lulu but she is too gangly to play that character…need someone that actually has some curves..not a stick figure
Kristen Stewart as Ana? Please no..She can’t act worth a damn.
For the love of god, I hope they don’t put Kristen Stewart or Robert Patterson in this film! I can’t picture them as any of the characters. Plus they can’t act worth a dime! Sorry! Ugh!! If hey are casted, no matter how much I liked the books, I won’t go and see it. Ever!
PLEASE NOT THE TWILIGHT GOD AND GODDESS!!!!
Colin Egglesfield or Ian Somerhalder, I could definitely see as Christian Grey, I think Alexis Bliedel would be a great Ana Steele.
Good call.
