A few reports here and there have taken a look into celebrity lines. While Gwen Stefani rocks the retail world with her line of L.A.M.B products other attempts at being a designer have failed miserably in the US. Nicky Hilton’s “Chick” seems to have tanked along with Jessica Simpson’s would be line. Jennifer Lopez’s line is still up and running but the merchandise manager for Macy’s East, stated that “overall, celebrity fashion lines have slowed down at retail.”
Celebrities of all walks of life are taking a stab at designing. Justin Timberlake recently released a new “William Rast” collection. Tommy Lee also has taken a liking to creating threads. Not to mention Kate Moss is even rumored to be taking on the role of designer versus model. Kate has said her collections would remarkably feature sizes up to 18.
Now some celebs have talent and an eye for fashion, but sometimes it’s like Star Jones thinking she is a lawyer because she once drove by the offices of Goldstein and Blatz. Some stars just weren’t meant to dress other people. Chance are if you hang out with Scott Storch the answer to fashion adventures would be a big “no.”
