While I could make a joke that Joey Lawrence lost his vision by reading the shitty script for his show Melissa & Joey, I won’t. Or I just did.

The truth of the matter is that the actor tore his cornea on the set when he was accidentally hit in the eye with a script, causing the tear.

“Hey my tweet peeps. Sorry for being AWOL. I got hit in the eye yesterday mrng [sic] by accident in the set and it ripped my cornea. Trying to heal,” he tweeted. “So I can do the show tmrw [sic] and be ok! Love you all and I’ll be in touch very soon xoxo.”

He is expected to be back to work Friday night and shared the above photo with followers on his Twitter account.
