How is it possible for a track by two of the raddest people in music to lie hidden for almost two years? I’m not really sure, but apparently, it happens; “Teaser,” recorded by Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ frontwoman Karen O and Kool Keith for a 2005 disc called Deep Throat vs. Lialeh, remains unreleased. The album was to feature indie and hip hop stars conducting a musical battle between the classic 70′s porno “Deep Throat” and the first major black porn “Lialeh.” For reasons no one really knows, the project was abandoned, leaving the fun and naughty “Teaser” as the only completed track. Deepening the mystery even more, someone leaked “Teaser” on the internet last week.

Karen O and Kool Keith hooked up in March of 2005 to record “Teaser” for an album featuring Danger Mouse, Gruff Rhys from Super Furry Animals, and a few others. During an MTV interview in May 2005, Karen O excitedly announced she was working with Kool Keith, promising they would soon release a video. The video never happened, and if Danger Mouse and Gruff recorded their tracks, they haven’t been released to the public. The only remnant of the project is “Teaser,” featuring Karen O at her most carefree and fun. And in case you’re wondering, yes, the song is about ice cream.
