Last month’s hepatitis scare at an event catered by Wolfgang Puck’s company last month had Drew Barrymore, Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock rushing to the doctor. A cook who had Hepatitis A was used by Puck for the event and handled food that could possibly have been exposed to the virus and could also potentially have been passed on to unknowing guests.
TMZ has obtained a letter sent to people who attended the February 7 party for the movie, “Music & Lyrics.” It informs the guests “about a public health issue that has arisen…”
The letter asks the guests to think back if they ate uncooked food at the event.
The crux of the matter is that a gamma globulin shot within fourteen days of exposure is needed to guard against the virus, but the letter went out a good couple of weeks after that time frame. In total, there are fourteen events in question, at which guests could potentially have been exposed, but luckily for me, I don’t get invited to anything, so whew. I’d be worried if I were more important.

ewww, that is SO gross! I feel bad, my mom and her entire side of the family all got Hep A from eating some uncooked food. Some of ‘em also got food poisoning, because there was fecal bacteria in the food too.
Even though the Hep A never really caused any of them health problems, they can never donate any blood, organs, or marrow, so if I get cancer or in an accident or something, I would have to get a stranger’s blood.

What? Hollywood stars can’t fork out 50$ for a Twinrix vaccination so that they don’t have to worry about hepatitis A?
