So good to see the old gang back together! The majority of the season one cast members from American Horror Story attended a special screening of the show presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre last night (April 18) in North Hollywood, California.
Asked if Zachary Quinto, who will be the nemesis to Lange’s alter ego, is an inmate at the said institution, Murphy coyly replied, “Maybe.” Little is known about Quinto’s character, but the Heroes alum himself said he will play “something totally different and in a totally different world with many of the same actors.”
On Adam Levine who recently confirmed he lands a part on the show’s sophomore season, Murphy gushed, “He’s a sexy guy, so he needs to play a sexy guy, but a guy that is different than who you think he would play.” He went on sharing, “I pitched him the part and he listened slack jawed and simply said, ‘I’m in.’ The second season is fun, sexy and baroque. It has a lot of meat to it. It’s a really gritty part.”
Murphy went on to say, “the second season, everybody who was announced, there will be other people up on this stage who are not announced who will also be in it,” he teased, “but are playing the polar opposite of what they were in the first season in every way.”
Noting that the new season will have no crossover from season one, he said, “It’s a completely different world and has nothing to do with season 1; there’s not a mention of season 1. The second season is set in a completely different time period.”
