Catherine Zeta Jones stepped out for the premiere of her latest film, “Death Defying Acts,” starring Guy Pearce as Harry Houdini. The film is a thriller/romance about the infamous escape artist and sounds to me like it was probably written around the same time as “The Prestige” and “The Illusionist.” Intrigue, romance, charlatans, escape plans and ultimately tragedy. Ta da!
Well, these pictures are of the film’s premiere in Australia at the State Theatre in Sydney. And speaking of defying death, Guy Pearce looks gaunt in a way that is almost worrisome to me. He better not be taking over Christian Bale’s part in a sequel to “The Machinist” because that apple a day diet is ridiculous. Catherine’s looking well and her self-confidence is showing, with her appearing at the event wearing what looks like a black and white throw for the couch. But hey, she’s selling it and I admire that.
She admitted that although she’s been taking on more maternal roles, we shouldn’t expect her to hang up her vixen hat any time soon. “In my next movie, which is an untitled movie at the moment, you’ll be seeing a lot more of me, put it that way.” Oh my, does that mean the couch throw is coming off?

I think CZJ is gawjus. And, for whatever reason, she seems to really love Michael. Who used to be gawjus, but now is just old.
The reason Guy Pearce is so thin might be because he’s filming The Road with Viggo Mortensen and Charline Theron. Oops.
