Morgan Wallen Is Really, Really Sorry for Throwing That Chair Off the Roof of That Bar

Country music artist Morgan Wallen issued an apology after being arrested for an incident involving throwing a chair from the rooftop of a Nashville bar. The 30-year-old was arrested on three felony charges by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on April 7. 2024.

In a recent statement shared on his X account, Wallen expressed remorse for his actions and confirmed he has since reached out to affected parties, including Nashville law enforcement, his family, and the staff at Chief’s Bar.

“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” he wrote. “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.”

The arrest occurred shortly after Wallen began the 2024 segment of his One Night at a Time World Tour, which is scheduled to continue in Oxford, Mississippi. The incident took place at Chief’s Bar, co-owned by country singer Eric Church, which opened just two days before the episode unfolded.

According to Nashville police, two officers witnessed the chair falling from the bar's six-story building.
Wallen faces three counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct and is expected to appear in a Nashville court for a settlement hearing on May 3, 2024.
