The 2019 Emmy Awards nominations are all accounted for, with HBO regaining the top spot with 137 nominations. Netflix, which ended HBO’s 17-year streak as the most nominated network, finished with 117 nominations.
HBO was buoyed by Game of Thrones and the return of Veep to Emmy eligibility. Game of Thrones landed 32 nominations, which broke the 25-year record set by NYPD Blue for most nominations in a single season (26). Veep came back after sitting out a year with nine nods, down from the 17 it received in 2017. Game of Thrones added its already record haul for total nominations, which now sits at 161, while Veep saw its total improve to 68 overall nominations.
Netflix, which didn’t have its top-two nominated shows from last year eligible this time around, was led by When They See Us (16) and Russian Doll (13).
Three of Socialite Life favorites – Schitt’s Creek (Four nominations including outstanding comedy series as well as nominations for its leads, Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy), Pose (Outstanding Drama Series as well as Outstanding Lead Actor in Drama Series for Billy Porter) and Fleabag (11 nominations, including one for Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s performance, one for her writing, one for directing, and four for supporting and guest actresses Olivia Colman, Sian Clifford, Fiona Shaw, and Kristin Scott-Thomas) were all nominated for major awards showing that the television academy is finally embracing non-mainstream television.

Robert Sylvester Kelly pleaded not guilty today to federal child pornography and sex trafficking charges. He was denied bail even though his attorney Steve Greenberg essentially argued that he’s too broke, dumb, and scared to jump bond. The judge sided with the prosecution who suggested it was best if Robert keep his pants on (in this case, a bright orange jumpsuit, sadly not pictured) for the time being and remain in jail. — Dlisted

Pink posted a photo of her kids running through the Monument to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin. Apparently, many of the commenters told Pink such behavior was inappropriate due tp what the memorial stood for. But Pink took to opportunity to say that not only were she and her kids Jewish and fully aware of the severity of the memorial, but that the architect of this memorial, Peter Eisenman, had intended for children to run and express themselves freely while in it. — Celebitchy
