Spoilers ahead!
Sony Pictures has given us more glimpses of Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Marvelโs Kraven The Hunter. At this yearโs NYCC, Director JC Chandor took center stage, unveiling new images and the first seven minutes of the film.
The R-rated film kicks off with Kraven entering a Russian prison. He tells his new cellmate heโll be there for three days. But things heat up quickly โ the next day, Kraven gets into a prison brawl, showing off his superhuman strength. This lands him in front of the prison boss, who turns out to be an arms dealer. In a brutal turn of events, Kraven kills the boss and his men, then escapes โwith some cool parkour.โ Another clip Soto described as โbloody and brutalโ shows Kraven creatively dispatching men using a bear trap, tree stump, and other makeshift weapons.
Taylor-Johnson, donning the iconic Kraven coat, gave the crowd some insight into his character. โHeโs an apex predator, the top of the food chain. Kraven is a hunter, not a poacher. Like every hunter knows, sometimes you have to cull the herd to preserve order. Of course, when he starts applying that to human beings, it becomes a pretty dark story.โ
Official Synopsis: Kraven the Hunter dives into the gritty origin story of one of Marvelโs most iconic villains. Aaron Taylor-Johnson portrays Kraven, a man whose complicated relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe), sets him on a vengeful path with brutal consequences. This journey transforms him into the worldโs greatest hunter and one of its most feared figures.

Mark your calendars โ Kraven the Hunter hits theaters on December 13, 2024.

Itโs worth noting that this isnโt Taylor-Johnsonโs first rodeo in the Marvel universe. He brought Quicksilver to life in 2015โs Avengers: Age of Ultron. Though his time as the speedster was brief, he left quite an impression, rivaling even Evan Petersโ take on the character in the X-Men films.
