It was a family affair for Angelina Jolie at the premiere of her latest film, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil as she brought along her kids Knox, 11, Zahara, 14, Pax, 15, Vivienne, 11, and Shiloh, 13.
Angelina wore an elegant one-shoulder black chainmail gown with a scorpion-inspired design from Atelier Versace and accented her outfit with Cartier jewelry.
Jolie reflected on the past few difficult years. “There have been times in my life where I have felt—and maybe I've hidden them well from the public—where I have not felt free, I have not felt safe, I have not felt like free of harm,” she told E!.
“I have felt small. I have felt cornered. And it has taken a lot to find that again, probably more of that today than I was in the last four years.”
Earlier this month, Angelina told Hello! magazine that she’s “rediscovering” herself as a mother of teenagers. “As they grow up, I find my children are strong individuals but still open-minded,” Angelina said. “I try to lead by example and be kind and gracious, as my mother was — and loving and tolerant.”
She went on to say that seeing her kids hit their teenage years has forced her to reflect on her own formative years.
“When your children are little you feel more ‘mommy.' When they are teenagers you start to remember yourself as a teenager,” she told the publication. “You see them going to punk clubs and you wonder why you can’t go. I’m in this fun moment where I’m rediscovering myself.”
