Ariana Grande appears to hint at her turbulent 2018, poking fun at her personal drama including her whirlwind engagement to Pete Davidson in the music video for her new song “7 Rings.”
In one lyric, the star sings: “Wearing a ring but ain’t gonna be no missus/ bought matching diamonds for six of my bitches/ I’d rather spoil all my friends with my riches/ Think retail therapy’s my new addiction.”
The song on female empowerment had been inspired by a shopping trip Grande went on after her split with the comedian, buying engagement rings for her friends.
The star told Billboard that she went on a Tiffany's engagement ring shopping spree, which gave her the idea for a song.
Wo were those rings for?
me, vic, courtney, alexa, tayla, njomza, kaydence (and my mom and nonna so technically nine but they got theirs after song was done) https://t.co/y6G9HGQTh4
