The search for the next James Bond has seemingly taken a dramatic turn this week, with British actor Callum Turner emerging as the overwhelming favorite to don the tuxedo.
While official channels remain silent, a flurry of reports and shifting betting odds have placed the Masters of the Air star squarely in the center of the 007 conversation, sparking intense speculation across the entertainment industry.
According to a recent Daily Mail report, circulated by major outlets such as The Independent, the 35-year-old actor may have already secured the coveted role.

An unnamed source close to the actor allegedly stated, “He’s been blabbing all over town. Callum is the new Bond, it’s been confirmed. Everyone in his circle is talking about it. It’s the worst-kept secret going.”
Consequently, this unverified chatter has had an immediate impact on the gambling markets. Turner, previously a contender alongside names like Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Henry Cavill, has seen his odds shorten drastically.
Lee Phelps, a spokesperson for William Hill, commented on the sudden shift, noting, “As we enter the new year, speculation continues on who’ll be sporting the tuxedo in the next James Bond film, and Callum Turner looks the likeliest candidate.” Phelps added that due to the rumors, “we’ve had to shorten him into 1/2 from 10/11 a few days ago.”

However, it is crucial to note that Amazon MGM Studios and longtime franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have not issued any official confirmation.
The production of the next Bond film, reportedly being written by Steven Knight and potentially directed by Denis Villeneuve, is still in the development stages.
Previously, Turner has laughed off similar speculation with humility. Addressing earlier rumors, he joked, “I think that’s my mum. She just puts that out there. So when my odds get higher, it’s all her putting the money on.”

Adding another layer of intrigue to the potential casting is Turner’s high-profile relationship. He is currently engaged to global pop superstar Dua Lipa, leading to further rumors that the couple could deliver a “power couple” debut for the franchise:
Turner as the spy and Lipa performing the theme song. For now, fans must wait to see if this “worst-kept secret” becomes reality or remains just another chapter in the long saga of casting Daniel Craig‘s successor.
