Singer Chris Brown encountered a technical malfunction during his 11:11 tour stop at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center, on Wednesday (Jun. 12, 2024) night.
In a video (watch below) posted by The Hollywood Reporter on X (formerly Twitter), Brown is seen suspended in the air by cables while performing his song “Under the Influence.” The cables were intended to glide the R&B artist to a smaller stage within the venue, but the mechanism failed to operate as planned.

Despite the glitch, fans did not immediately notice the issue as Brown continued to sing, and his backup dancers maintained their routine without interruption.
Approximately 50 seconds into the video, Brown can be seen gesturing for assistance from backstage. About 10 seconds later, crew members arrived with a large ladder to help him down. At this point, the “No Guidance” singer appeared visibly frustrated.

According to THR, Brown addressed the audience afterward, expressing his frustration but also making light of the situation.
This incident occurred just a week after Brown kicked off his tour on June 5 in Detroit.
Brown will continue his tour on the East Coast, with upcoming performances at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on June 14 and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on June 16-17.
The tour is scheduled to conclude at L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena on August 6-7.
