Chris Noth has confirmed the end of his friendship with Sarah Jessica Parker, attributing the split to her public response when sexual assault allegations against him emerged in 2021.

In an exclusive clip from the upcoming January 26 episode of Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson, via People, the 71-year-old actor didn’t mince words about their current relationship status. “We’re not friends, I think that’s pretty obvious,” Noth stated plainly.

The friendship fallout centers on a joint statement Parker released with their Sex and the City co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. The trio expressed support for women who accused Chris Noth of sexual misconduct, stating: “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences.”

Noth took particular issue with the lack of private communication before the public statement. “The statement that they put out — which was nothing more than brand management, really — I don’t know, it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising,” he explained during the interview.

The actor emphasized his long history with Sarah Jessica Parker, expressing disappointment that she didn’t reach out privately. “Because you need to call me and hear my side of this. You’ve known me for many years, and we’ve worked [together] for many years,” Noth continued.

Despite acknowledging Hollywood’s pressures, Noth remained critical of the approach. “I get it, that’s more Hollywood than Hollywood. But before you make that statement, you know me, you’ve known me all these years, give me a call so I can give you the real scoop about this,” he said.

The allegations first surfaced in December 2021 when The Hollywood Reporter published accounts from two women claiming assault in 2004 and 2015. Additional accusations followed in subsequent weeks. Noth has consistently denied all allegations, maintaining all encounters were consensual.

The professional consequences were immediate and severe. HBO Max removed Noth’s planned appearance in the And Just Like That Season 1 finale, and CBS dropped him from “The Equalizer.”

Reflecting on the experience, Noth acknowledged a silver lining. “What’s gained is good. You know where people stand and you know who your real friends are and who they’re not. That’s important to know,” he noted.

The actor suggested he would have handled the situation differently if roles were reversed. “I just know if it had been on the other hand, I wouldn’t have done that,” Noth stated.

Most significantly, Noth described the lasting impact of the friendship fallout. “That was hurtful, and it really affected everything,” he conceded, revealing the depth of his disappointment over how events unfolded between himself and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The rift between Chris Noth and Sarah Jessica Parker became more apparent earlier this month when Noth appeared to endorse a critical comment about Parker on Instagram, though he later dismissed the interaction as insignificant.
