Hollywood star Christina Applegate made a surprising revelation on her MeSsy podcast with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, known for her role on The Sopranos. During the episode, Applegate dished about being approached a decade ago to join the glitzy cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Still, fans of Married… With Children and Dead to Me, she declined the offer and won’t see Applegate among the reality TV ranks.

Applegate turned it down, and later, “I ended up becoming really good friends with the executive producer of [RHOBH] because our kids went to school together.” She asked the producer, “‘Now that you know me, would I have been a fun Housewife?’ He’s like, ‘No, it would’ve been the most boring s–t I’ve ever seen in my life.’”

Applegate’s self-reflection on the possibility of joining the show was as down-to-earth as her beloved TV characters. She admitted that the drama-packed dinners and glammed evenings synonymous with RHOBH weren’t her cup of tea. She joked, “I wouldn’t have shown up for any dinners. I would’ve been in my sweatpants, and I would be laying in bed. What fun is that? None. I would be the worst Housewife anyway.”

Despite turning down the dash of reality stardom, Christina Applegate remains a passionate Real Housewives franchise viewer. She recently expressed her dismay over Robyn Dixon‘s exit from Real Housewives of Potomac on social media, “What in the actual f–k?… [Andy Cohen], you need to explain this to me. She is my fave [Housewife] of all the franchises!”
