Hot off Alan Cumming‘s recent Emmy Award win for The Traitors, the beloved New York City gay bar and nightclub, Club Cumming, is opening its doors to cameras. A six-part documentary series (aptly titled Club Cumming) takes viewers behind the scenes of the Lower East Side hotspot, offering a distinct and compelling celebration of queer life, talent, and community. The series has been greenlit for WOW Presents Plus, with a planned air date in early 2026.
Located in New York’s Lower East Side, Club Cumming is celebrated by its founder, trailblazing actor, writer, and presenter Alan Cumming, as one of the last true hot spots for vibrant, uninhibited 21st-century nightlife. It serves as a cabaret club, dance club, art club, and above all, a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. It’s where emerging artists cross paths with today’s established stars, all bound by an ethos of kindness and creativity.
The new series will take viewers behind the stage curtains to follow the diverse cast of performers and employees. This fully queer cast includes cabaret singer Daphne Always, go-go dancer and drag performer Michelle Wynters, drag queen Brini Maxwell, drag king Cunning Stunt, comedian Jake Cornwell, and Club Cumming co-owner and manager Darren Dryden.

Club Cumming will track the cast as they hone their crafts, chase big goals, and navigate romantic relationships in the fast-paced city. Despite living across New York’s different neighborhoods, the Club Cumming stage is their chosen home. Under Alan Cumming’s mentorship, this “tribe” puts their full lives on display in a performance-fueled and outrageously fun-filled documentary.
Alan Cumming shared his excitement, stating his vision has always been to create a space reflecting “the ethos of old New York nightlife: A place for all ages, all genders, all colors, all sexualities, where kindness is all and anything can happen!” He expressed pride in showcasing the lives of these “queer icons of tomorrow,” noting that their “talent and chutzpah and lust for life… are teaching us all how to live and find joy even in a world that has the odds stacked up against us.”
World of Wonder’s co-founders and Executive Producers Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey praised Cumming for pouring himself into the venue and providing a stage for “wild and wonderful artists who deserve to be celebrated.” They added, “The collective voices of Alan and the team makes for a roar that will make you laugh, make you cry and above all realize the importance of cumming together now more than ever.”
