Ex-Vanderpump Rules cast member Rachel Leviss is back in the business with her freshly released iHeartPodcast, Rachel Goes Rogue.
Formerly Raquel Leviss, she was a major character in Seasons 5-10 of the Bravo show Vanderpump Rules, a spin-off from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” This show delves into the lives of the staff of restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump.
For her ultimate season on the show, Leviss found herself in the middle of a well-publicized, highly charged sexual affair with castmate Tom Sandoval. The two had been involved in a clandestine relationship while the tenth season was filmed, unbeknownst to Sandoval's nine-year partner, Ariana Madix. The affair was exposed when Madix read through the contents of Sandoval's phone and came across an intimate video of him and Leviss.
Madix contacted the production team to advise them of the situation, and shortly after, TMZ revealed the story, which caused a surge in viewership for Vanderpump Rules and Bravo. Subsequently, the show was nominated for two Emmys. Leviss, however, indicated that the aftermath of the situation, particularly the overwhelming public criticism, caused her to leave the show, though she attempted to return for Season 11. In April, Leviss entered a mental health treatment center in Arizona.
In her new podcast, Rachel Leviss is set to be candid and open about a variety of matters, with the primary emphasis being on her journey in dealing with her mental health post the #Scandoval furor, her experiences while dating under the lens of a camera, and her self-realization of her own strength. Additionally, she will be hosting guests from the showbiz industry.
“You may have heard the stories and read the articles and think you know who I am. But there's more to it than that. I have certainly made mistakes in the past, but what people think they know is not always the truth. Let's look at the real story through a different lens and maybe you will be surprised by what you discover. I've kept quiet for too long, but now it's time to hear my side of the story with Rachel Goes Rogue.”
Bethenny Frankel and the “Just B” Podcast Network are the executive producers in conjunction with iHeartPodcasts.
Rachel Leviss will be sharing her side of the story come January. She invites listeners to tune in and states that they might find themselves surprised by the information they hear.
In an August podcast with Frankel, Leviss shared that she felt like she had been “portrayed as the ultimate villain,” since her errors on camera are “forever immortalized.” This was her first interview since she had departed the mental health facility.
The debut of Rachel Goes Rogue will take place on Jan. 8, 2024 on the iHeartRadio app.
