Former Ugly Betty star Eric Mabius arrested for battery following bar flight

Eric Mabius, who portrayed Daniel Meade in the acclaimed series Ugly Betty, was arrested in Nassau County, Florida, during the early hours of Thursday, February 20, 2024. The actor, now 53, is confronting two misdemeanor charges, including battery. Check out his wild mugshot below.

The incident unfolded at a Fernandina Beach establishment situated approximately 25 miles from Jacksonville. The situation escalated when Mabius reportedly stepped into a dispute involving his female associate, who was accused of displaying disruptive behavior and spitting on other customers.

The situation intensified after multiple requests from staff and patrons for the woman to exit the premises. The confrontation turned physical when Mabius allegedly forced both his companion and another female patron to the ground while attempting to break up their altercation.

According to reports, Mabius allegedly pinned down the female victim and violently pulled her hair, removing a substantial amount. When police arrived at the scene, they found both Mabius and his female companion heavily intoxicated and uncooperative, with Mabius refusing to follow simple police directives to remain seated.

His defiance resulted in an additional charge of resisting an officer without violence.

A key witness ultimately decided against pressing charges, attributing the spitting incident to the heated atmosphere of the situation.

The actor’s mugshot revealed visible injuries, including a bruise and bloodied laceration near his right eye. Mabius’s representatives have yet to issue any statement regarding the incident.
