The beloved One Direction stars Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik gathered today, November 20, to say their final goodbyes to bandmate Liam Payne at an intimate service held at St Mary's Church in Amersham, nestled in England's Home Counties.

According to several UK media sources, including the BBC, the funeral service and wake were organized roughly a month after news broke of the singer's tragic passing in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Medical examiners recently released autopsy findings that confirmed Payne's death resulted from “multiple trauma” injuries after falling from his hotel room's third-floor balcony.

The private farewell ceremony in the Home Counties brought together Payne's closest family – with parents Karen and Geoff Payne present – and his inner circle of friends, including his One Direction brothers. Louis, Niall, and Zayn were spotted arriving first, with Harry making his entrance moments later.

After losing Payne, his One Direction bandmates shared their grief through both collective and individual social media tributes. The four expressed being “completely devastated” by the heartbreaking news.

“In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly,” their statement continued. Many others joined in publicly mourning his loss.

Kate Cassidy, Payne's girlfriend who had accompanied him to Argentina, arrived at the church alongside model Damian Hurley. Fellow musicians Jamie Scott, Kimberley Walsh, and Nicola Roberts came to pay tribute, as did TV personality James Corden. Cheryl Tweedey, who shares son Bear with Payne, attended and was seen with Payne's parents.

Touching floral tributes adorned the ceremony, including crowns spelling out “daddy” and “son,” plus a special arrangement shaped like bowling pins and a ball. A horse-drawn carriage decorated with white roses and the meaningful crowns carried Payne's coffin to St Mary's.
