In surprise casting news, former Superman, Henry Cavill, is your new Sherlock Holmes. He is set to portray Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary detective for Enola Holmes.
Millie Bobby Brown will star in the film, which features a script by Jack Thorne adapting Nancy Springer's book series.
Launching in 2006 with The Case Of The Missing Marquess, Springer's tomes tell the tale of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes' much younger sister, Enola, who turns out to be a highly capable detective in her own right.
Helena Bonham Carter‘s aboard to play Enola's mother, while Fleabag and Killing Eve veteran Harry Bradbeer will direct the film.
The plot for the film is said to involve a missing teen whose father has been murdered.
Cavill will next be seen in Netflix's The Witcher, based on the best-selling fantasy book series.
Beyond that, he doesn't have any other big screen projects currently in the works.
