James Corden has insisted he hasnโ€™t โ€œdone anything wrongโ€ after being banned from a restaurant over his โ€œabusiveโ€ behavior.

Earlier this week, Keith McNally slammed the โ€˜Late Late Showโ€™ presenter for his behaviour at his New York eatery Balthazar, but rescinded his ban hours later after revealing the โ€˜Catsโ€™ actor had โ€œapologised profuselyโ€.

And now, James has addressed the incident, branding the drama โ€œsillyโ€ and insisting he had no reason to hide away.

Speaking to the New York Times newspaper, he said: โ€œI havenโ€™t done anything wrong, on any level. So why would I ever cancel this [interview]? I was there. I get it.

โ€œI feel so Zen about the whole thing. Because I think itโ€™s so silly.

โ€œI just think itโ€™s beneath all of us. Itโ€™s beneath you. Itโ€™s certainly beneath your publication.โ€

During the interview, which took place at another New York restaurant, another customer sent back her eggs, and James used the situation to highlight how โ€œinsaneโ€ his own public shaming had been.

He said: โ€œCan you imagine now, if we just blasted her on Twitter? Would that be fair?

โ€œThis is my point. Itโ€™s insane.โ€

And James insisted barely anyone cared about the row.

He said: โ€œI havenโ€™t really read anything. Itโ€™s strange. Itโ€™s strange when you were there. I think Iโ€™m probably going to have to talk about it on Mondayโ€™s show.

โ€œโ€˜My feeling, often, is, never explain, never complain. But Iโ€™ll probably have to talk about it. It feels like such a silly thing to talk about.

โ€œShould we not all be a little grown-up about this?

โ€œI promise you, ask around this restaurant. They donโ€™t know about this. Maybe 15 percent of people.

โ€œIโ€™ve been here, been walking around New York, not one personโ€™s come up to me. Weโ€™re dealing in two worlds here.โ€

Keith previously branded the 44-year-old star a โ€œtiny cretin of a manโ€ and said he was the โ€œmost abusive customer everโ€ after finding a hair in his food in June.

Keith added earlier this month, โ€œnastyโ€ James had criticised staff after his wife Juliaโ€™s eggs were not prepared to her liking during brunch.

But the 71-year-old restaurateur later revealed his famous customer had apologised.

He posted: โ€œJames Corden just called me and apologized profusely. Having f***** up myself more than most people, I strongly believe in second chances.

โ€œSo if James Corden lets me host his Late Late Show for 9 months, Iโ€™ll immediately rescind his ban from Balthazar.

โ€œNo, of course not. Butโ€ฆ.anyone magnanimous enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesnโ€™t deserve to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar.โ€
