James Franco is doubling down on his claim that he has captured real alien footage — and the internet isn’t buying it.

The disgraced actor, 48, resurfaced on TikTok last month after years away from social media following 2018 sexual misconduct allegations. He launched a new account under the handle @jamesfranco2319 and began posting cryptic videos insisting he wasn’t AI-generated and that he had something urgent to share.

Franco claimed something “not human” was inside his garage, describing glowing eyes and a hand emerging from the darkness during a late-night painting session. He said he ran and never went back.

For weeks, Franco teased that he’d finally reveal proof on July 13, 2026. He claimed his account had been hacked twice by people trying to stop him from going public, insisting he wasn’t “acting crazy.”

When the day arrived, Franco delivered. He posted black-and-white footage showing what he described as a creature moving through the bushes, peering into his home and emerging from his backyard garage.

“I need to get this out for that very reason that people are trying to stop me,” Franco said as he unveiled the clips.

The footage itself, however, did little to convince skeptics. One TikTok commenter wrote, “Clearly fake but I’ll say it again, I’m excited for whatever movie this is for.”

Others piled on. A commenter fired back, “Are we all forgetting HE IS A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR???????”

Franco’s TikTok account only follows two others: the official page for his upcoming film “Love Meets in the Sunshine” and its director, Christian Guiton, fueling speculation the whole saga is a marketing stunt.

Guiton has publicly denied any connection. He said, “I talked to James last night and he says he has footage of this alien… I don’t know.”

Skeptics also point out that Love Meets in the Sunshine is described as a dramedy about a terminally ill man on a cross-country road trip, with no extraterrestrial elements in its plot, making the alien angle an odd promotional choice if that’s what this is.

Viewers have also flagged inconsistencies in the videos, noting that Franco referenced reading comments on footage that appeared to have been filmed the same day it was posted, and that clothing, lighting and camera angles remained suspiciously consistent across uploads.

Despite the doubts, engagement has been massive. Franco’s first video racked up 13.6 million views, and the alien reveal itself pulled in 1.4 million views within a single day.

Whether this is an elaborate promotional campaign, a genuine account of something strange, or simply an attention-grabbing bit, Franco isn’t backing down. He’s already promised more footage is coming.
