Aww, we hope Justin Bieber is okay! The Purpose singer had to cancel an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and a pre-tape performance for CBS’ The Thanksgiving Day Parade at the last minute.

Late Monday the star announced on Twitter that he would not be traveling to NYC, pulling out of the appearances for undisclosed personal reasons. He tweeted The Late Show his apologies and then thanked Colbert for understanding, writing “sometimes life kicks our ass, and we need to deal with it. I will see u soon.”

My apologies to @colbertlateshow as I won’t be able to make it to nyc tomorrow for the show. I look forward to making it up to you soon

The kicking of his “ass” left his millions of fans a tad concerned but reports say he just had some conflicting scheduling issues. He was spotted returning to his Beverly Hills hotel yesterday with his bodyguard and looked pretty damn cute. Could be Justin just has a bad cold and flying with a cold is brutal, so we totally get it.

Meanwhile, Bieber’s new album Purpose is kicking another type of ass as it soars on the charts, selling 522,000 copies in its first week and giving the cutie pop star a nice comeback boost. His AMA performance on Sunday also completely rocked the house, so yeah, Biebs is on the rise (and may or may not be getting back together with Selma Gomez! Those two can’t quit each other).
