Comedian Kathy Griffin has never been one to shy away from the truth, and her latest revelation is no exception. The 65-year-old star recently opened up about the eye-watering cost of her third facelift, leaving fans stunned by just how much she shelled out for her latest cosmetic procedure.

During an appearance on the Good Guys podcast with hosts Josh Peck and Ben Soffer, Griffin dropped the bombshell that her third facelift came with a price tag of $218,000. And true to her comedic nature, she had the perfect quip ready. “You know how many d— jokes I have to tell for $218,000?” she joked. “I have to do at least two shows.”

The My Life on the D-List star underwent the procedure back in August with Beverly Hills-based celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Ben Talei. Interestingly enough, Griffin revealed she went to Kris Jenner‘s previous surgeon, making a smart financial decision by avoiding the reality star’s current doctor who reportedly charges significantly more.

Now, you might be thinking that $218,000 sounds like an astronomical amount—and you’d be right. However, Griffin was quick to point out that she actually got a relative bargain. The comedian mentioned she’d heard about six or seven surgeons in Beverly Hills who are now charging up to $1 million per facelift. When it came to paying that much, Griffin drew the line. “I’m just such a money person, I can’t bring myself to do it,” she explained.

This marks Kathy Griffin’s third time going under the knife for a facelift, with her first procedure happening way back in 1998 when she was just 38 years old. What’s refreshing about Griffin’s approach is her total transparency about cosmetic surgery in an industry where many celebrities remain tight-lipped about their procedures.

Speaking about her decision on her own podcast Talk Your Head Off, Griffin admitted with her signature humor: “It’s my third. I know that’s so vain! I’m so vain for no reason. No one has ever gone to a Kathy Griffin show to see her beautiful, youthful face.”

The comedian has also been candid about the reality of the recovery process. Unlike some celebrities who claim the procedure is painless, Griffin kept it real: “Got the facelift, I’m gonna be honest, it’s painful. So these bitches that are like, ‘It’s like getting a tooth filled! It’s nothing!’ No, it’s painful.”

Griffin’s openness about the cost, the pain, and even her vanity offers a refreshing take in Hollywood’s often secretive world of cosmetic procedures. Meanwhile, she’s currently touring the country with her aptly named New Face, New Tour—and at least now we know exactly how many shows it’ll take to pay for that face.
