The Frasier star isn’t holding back on his eyebrow-raising political opinions. Kelsey Grammer made waves this weekend when he praised Donald Trump as potentially the greatest president the United States has ever seen.

Speaking to Fox News Digital before the Kennedy Center Honors dinner on Saturday (December 6, 2025), the veteran actor didn’t mince words about his admiration for the current president. “He’s one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever had. Maybe the greatest,” Grammer declared, calling Trump “extraordinary.”

The 70-year-old Emmy winner attended the prestigious event with his daughter Faith after Trump awarded medals to this year’s Kennedy Center honorees in the Oval Office. The ceremony recognized entertainment legends, including Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor, George Strait, Michael Crawford, and the rock band KISS.

Grammer acknowledged that Trump has faced significant challenges during his presidency. He noted that the administration inherited complex situations and still has ambitious goals to accomplish. The actor, who served on the Kennedy Center’s selection committee this year, seemed particularly excited about Stallone receiving the honor, describing the action star as “a force of nature.”

This latest endorsement comes as no surprise to those following Grammer’s political journey. The “Cheers” alum has been one of Hollywood’s most outspoken conservatives, consistently defending Trump even when it goes against the grain in the entertainment industry. Earlier this year, he told The Sunday Times, “It’s great to have somebody who actually means what they say.”

Meanwhile, the actor’s comments have sparked considerable backlash on social media. Many former fans expressed disappointment, with some referencing the Frasier theme song in their criticism. Others questioned whether playing an intellectual character on television translates to real-world wisdom.

Grammer remains unfazed by the controversy. Speaking to The Associated Press at the event, he emphasized his patriotism and shared goals with the administration. “I want to see our country do well,” he stated plainly.
