Highlights

  • Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky have welcomed their first child, confirmed only after Page Six ran photos.
  • No name, sex or birth date has been released, and the couple still has not made any public statement.
  • Gaga called motherhood her next starring role on Colbert, and told Rolling Stone she wanted it the most.

Lady Gaga did not announce a pregnancy. She did not announce a birth. She walked out into Northern California with a newborn strapped to her chest and let the paparazzi file the press release for her.

Page Six ran the photos first: Gaga, 40, and fiancé Michael Polansky, 42, strolling with an unidentified woman, the infant tucked into a wearable baby sling with its head resting on her chest. No name. No sex. No birth date. Mother Monster, quite literally, said nothing.

Which is exactly on brand. These two never announced the engagement either, and Gaga simply started calling Polansky her fiancé in July 2024 while standing next to the French prime minister at the Olympics. Announcements are for amateurs.

The fake-outs were real, too. When fans clocked her at her sister Natali’s wedding in 2024, Gaga posted a TikTok captioned, “Not pregnant – just down back cryin at the gym.” Case closed. Case, apparently, reopened.

She has been telegraphing this for years. On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, when asked what came after acting and Broadway, she said motherhood was her “next starring role.” A year earlier, when an Elle interviewer warned her that kids humble you, she shot back, “Oh, I’m ready.”

The parenting philosophy arrived before the parent did. “I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are,” she told Elle, which is a rich thing to say when you spent 2010 in a meat dress, and your child will absolutely find the footage.

She got more sincere with the metaphors: “Family is what makes you who you are, and it also defines your need for change.” And to the New York Times in March 2025, flatly, “I’m excited to be a mom.”By last November, on her Rolling Stone cover, she stopped hedging entirely. “Being a mom is the thing I want the most,” she said.

Polansky, for his part, remains the least tabloid-shaped man in her orbit. A Harvard-adjacent tech investor who runs the Parker Foundation, he proposed on April Fools’ Day 2024, and she assumed it was a bit. “Actually, I thought he was joking and he was not,” she told Graham Norton. “But it was really nice.”

The wedding, meanwhile, keeps drifting. Polansky told Rolling Stone, “We don’t want a really big wedding, but we want to enjoy it.” Then in March, via a recorded message on Bruno Mars’ “Romantic Radio” livestream, Gaga said, “Me and my fiancé have been traveling all year, but we’re getting married soon.” Soon has now been lapped by an entire human being.

Note the timing. The Mayhem Ball wrapped in April, and she has been off the radar since. That is not a hiatus. That is a woman who built a nine-month blackout into her tour routing and got away with it.

The Little Monsters, naturally, went feral in the Page Six comments. “I’m thrilled that we’ll have a little monster hahaha,” one wrote.

Gaga has spent twenty years controlling every frame. She just pulled off the one reveal nobody leaked.
