NEED TO KNOW
- Lisa Rinna confirmed she tested positive for fentanyl and high levels of amphetamines after attending The Traitors Season 4 premiere party at The Abbey in West Hollywood on January 8.
- Costar Colton Underwood noticed Rinna seemed unusually intoxicated and alerted her team; husband Harry Hamlin helped remove her from the venue.
- The Abbey conducted an internal review and found no evidence of drink tampering, while Rinna says the incident was leaked before she could address it publicly.
Leave it to Lisa Rinna to have the most dramatic off-camera moment of the entire Traitors season. The reality TV veteran and current Season 4 cast member dropped a bombshell on Good Day New York Thursday morning, confirming reports that she was drugged at the show’s premiere party — and that she has the toxicology results to prove it.
Rinna appeared on Good Day New York with hosts Jerry O’Connell and Rosanna Scotto, telling them she had fentanyl and amphetamines in her system after the January 8 party. When host Rosanna Scotto asked point-blank whether she had been roofied, Rinna didn’t hesitate. “Yes, I was,” she said.
Then came the detail that made everyone’s jaw drop.
“I had fentanyl, high levels of amphetamines, and other things,” she said. “But I can’t talk a lot about it because we’re still dealing with it. It was leaked, and my team is dealing with it now.”
The premiere party took place at The Abbey in West Hollywood — a beloved West Hollywood institution that, apparently, has a darker side Rinna wants people to know about. “So many people that I know have had this happen at The Abbey. All my daughter’s friends. I mean, this is not a first-time thing,” she said, making it clear she sees this as part of a bigger, scarier pattern.
The story actually broke earlier this week via TMZ, thanks in large part to an unlikely ally: Colton Underwood. Yes, that Colton Underwood — the Bachelor alum who clashed with Rinna throughout the season as a fellow Traitor. Underwood noticed Rinna seemed completely inebriated at the party and, because he knew she hadn’t had that much to drink — he was with her the whole night — he became concerned and alerted her team. Even feuding reality stars look out for each other, apparently.

Good thing someone was paying attention, because Rinna credited her husband, Harry Hamlin, with getting her out of there quickly. “Luckily, my husband was there and was able to get me out of there quickly,” she said. Harry Hamlin stepped up as the unsung hero of the Traitors‘ premiere season.
The Abbey, for its part, isn’t exactly copping to anything. The venue released a statement saying it conducted an internal review after being contacted by Rinna’s team, reviewed all available surveillance footage from the time in question, and interviewed staff on duty, finding “no evidence of drink tampering or suspicious behavior toward her.”

The statement also addressed the broader issue directly: “Drink tampering is a crime. If any guest believes their drink has been compromised, we strongly encourage them to report it immediately, either to our management team so we can respond in real time, or directly to law enforcement if they prefer.”
Rinna has not publicly confirmed whether she’s contacted law enforcement. Her team has not yet responded to press inquiries.

This all comes as Rinna’s Traitors Season 4 journey wraps up — she was voted off during the season run after a fan-favorite rivalry with Underwood — and the Season 4 reunion airs tonight on Peacock. It’s a fitting, if terrifying, coda to what Rinna herself described as the hardest production she’s ever been a part of. “I don’t care. Broadway, Dancing With the Stars — this is the most challenging because it’s a game, [it’s] physical, mental, and psychological,” she said in a separate interview. Turns out the game was even more dangerous than anyone realized.
Whatever happens next legally, Rinna is making it clear she wants people talking about drink safety — especially at the venues they think they know. This isn’t going away quietly.
