Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have officially ended their marriage. The longtime couple finalized their divorce in a Nashville court on Tuesday, January 6, according to court documents obtained by multiple outlets.
The settlement brings closure to a separation that began last summer. Kidman, 58, was assigned as the primary parent to their two minor daughters. Their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, will spend the majority of their time with their mother.
According to the parenting plan, the teenagers will reside with Kidman for 306 days per year. Meanwhile, Urban will have parenting time every other weekend, totaling 59 days annually with his daughters.

The divorce agreement reveals significant financial details. Neither party will receive alimony or spousal support. Additionally, child support was set at zero dollars, suggesting both parents will independently provide for their children’s needs.
The swift conclusion surprised many observers. Nicole and Keith had already hammered out all the divorce details before Nicole filed. This advance preparation allowed the proceedings to move quickly once paperwork was submitted to the court.
The Academy Award-winning actress filed for divorce on September 30, 2025. She cited irreconcilable differences as the grounds for ending the marriage. The filing came just one day after news of their separation became public knowledge.

Sources close to the situation revealed the split was particularly difficult for Kidman. “She had faith they could work it out. This wasn’t Nicole’s decision, and she is devastated,” an insider shared with media outlets. The source added that the actress had attempted to salvage the relationship before ultimately filing.
The couple’s romance began in 2005 when they met at a Los Angeles event. They married one year later in Sydney, Australia, in June 2006. The wedding took place near Kidman’s hometown, marking the beginning of what appeared to be a strong partnership.
Throughout their marriage, Kidman and Urban became one of Hollywood’s most visible power couples. Urban frequently accompanied Kidman to film premieres and award ceremonies. Similarly, Kidman attended Urban’s concerts and country music events, presenting a united front.

Their last public appearances together occurred in spring 2025. The couple attended the Academy of Country Music Awards in May. They were also spotted at a FIFA Club World Cup match in Nashville the following month.
The divorce agreement includes provisions designed to protect their daughters. One clause reportedly stipulates that neither parent will speak negatively about the other. This commitment aims to maintain stability for Sunday and Faith during the transition.
Both Urban and Kidman will share responsibility for major decisions affecting their daughters. These decisions include matters related to healthcare, education, and overall wellbeing while the children remain minors. Sunday Rose will turn 18 on July 7, 2026.

All properties, trusts, and business assets remain separate according to court documents. This arrangement suggests the presence of a prenuptial agreement that clearly delineated ownership before marriage.
Kidman was previously married to actor Tom Cruise from 1991 to 2001. She adopted two children with Cruise, Isabella and Connor, who are now adults. Her relationship with Urban represented a second chance at marriage after that high-profile divorce.
Representatives for both Kidman and Urban have not publicly commented on the finalized divorce. The couple has maintained privacy throughout the process, choosing not to release statements about their separation.
