After fans on social media speculated that a concertgoer at Noah Kahan‘s Philadelphia show on June 26, 2026 had defecated on the floor, the singer took matters into his own hands.
A viral clip appeared to depict fecal matter near seats at Citizens Bank Park, prompting the artist to speak out on social media. Specifically, the video appeared to show a woman squatting in the crowd before security intervened. The footage spread fast, and Kahan wasn’t about to let it pass without comment.
Taking to X the morning after, the Vermont-born singer issued what may be the most earnest bathroom PSA in concert history. “If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao,” Kahan wrote. “I’ve pooped my pants as much as the next 29 year old but you guys gotta understand there’s a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that.”
Kahan added in a follow-up post, “I s–t myself onstage in Charlottesville but that’s because I am dedicated to my craft.”

A user on X going by the name Turd Ferguson pushed back, writing, “‘As much as the next 29 year old,’ should equate to f—ing ZERO, what the hell are you talking about??” To which Kahan replied, “Okay Turd Ferguson,” keeping up the lighthearted tone.
The incident kicked off the opening night of Kahan’s “The Great Divide” tour, which runs through December.
The alleged incident also inspired many fans to sound off on Reddit, with one user writing, “No song is worth pooping on the ground for.”

Kahan is far from alone in navigating concert bathroom etiquette from the stage. Olivia Rodrigo recently revealed she’s experienced getting a whiff of fans in the front row wearing diapers at her own shows. Rodrigo shared during a June 18 appearance on KISS radio: “I have been to certain concerts and certain festivals where people wear diapers so that they can be front row of the show. That’s been an experience of a performer that I have smelled and experienced.”
The fans have been warned. The bathrooms are right there. Use them.
