If you can’t stand the New Year’s Eve crowds and want the perfect stay at home binge to welcome 2025, check out the new, six-episode Crave Original series, Slaycation, premiering on WOW Presents Plus on Tuesday, December 31.
SLAYCATION follows six larger-than-life queens from across the international DRAG RACE family – BOA, Jada Shada Hudson, Kandy Muse, Kerri Colby, Lawrence Chaney, and Luxx Noir London – as they vacation together at a Canadian winter cabin. With fun activities, frivolity, and a hint of drama, their fish-out-of-water escapades culminate in a show-stopping performance for the local community.
Coined “Toronto’s Turnup Queen,” Jada Shada Hudson has been in the drag scene for 14 years. In addition to being a runner up on Season 3 of Canada’s Drag Race, she has also made appearances on the Crave original series 1 Queen 5 Queers and the CBC Gem short-form series Queens. Jada even performed at the pre-show for Lizzo’s “Cuz I Love You Too” World Tour in 2019.
Now five years sober, after her run on Canada’s Drag Race, BOA became committed to her recovery and overall health. She is a newly certified yoga instructor, who has launched her wellness brand BOGA (yoga for every body) and podcast, BOGA: Wellness with BOA, where she discusses the importance of prioritizing mental health and wellness.
We had a few moments to chat with these queens of the North about their experience on the show in our exclusive interview.

What was your Slaycation experience like?
Jada: Just getting on the show, I was already excited because, you know, we have had so many seasons and episodes of Drag Race, all these different franchises and now there’s something new for the fans and for the viewers, you know? This has never been done before, so I was so excited that I get to be a part of it, and especially the first season.
BOA: When I saw that it was announced, I said, oh my god, I would love to be a part of that. And then when I got asked to be a part of it, I was like, bitch, I manifested it. I’m magical. I was so happy. I was so gagged. I was so excited. And I was like, I deserve this. I deserve a break.
What was the experience like just to be in a house with all these big personalities?
BOA: Overstimulating.
Jada: Well, I love the girls I have met in person and hung out with, you know, me, Kandy, Luxx, Kerri, we all hung out and partied together for DragCon and stuff like that. I already knew that like those girls would have been my kind of good time. So, when I heard that they’re on the show, I was just like, oh my god, this is gonna be so good. Lawrence Chaney…I was like, oh, I don’t know…but Lawrence turned out to be really fun too. She is funny, she’s the Lawrence that we see on TV, the funny, cheeky, Scottish Lawrence.

BOA: She’s like, literally, what you see is what you get.
Jada: She’s a big sweetheart.
BOA: She’s a little shady too. I know because I’m a little shady too.
Who was the shadiest person in the house?
BOA: I don’t know. We have to see the confessionals first.
Jada: Everyone did confessionals but we have no idea what everyone said. So, I can say, okay, maybe I was the shadiest, or Kandy…but then you get the confessionals and the sweet innocent, loveable, fun girl Lawrence Chaney might be in the confessionals just ripping us to shreds. You never know.
You all took part in some really fun activities on the show. Do you have a favorite experience?
BOA: The food was so good! The food was amazing.
Jada: I mean, having chefs come and cater to you and all that stuff was amazing.
BOA: I thought skating was really fun. I really had a fun time skating. {To Jada] You hated skating.
Jada: I hated it. but, just thinking about it now, BOA is Canadian, she was born here. I was born in Barbados, so I still have that Caribbean…you know, take me swimming on an island, not push me down a mountain of snow.

So, if there was a season two, would you want to participate and where would you want to go?
Jada: Somewhere warm. Like, it doesn’t have to be a Caribbean island. You know, we’re not telling you to fly us out to the Bahamas or Barbados but if you can, you can do that…but just somewhere nice and warm because we already have the winter.
BOA: Let’s go to Mexico and get BBLs!
Jada: Oh my God. Give me veneers!
What was your best takeaway from this whole experience?
BOA: The friends we made along the way.
Jada: Yay. I like that. We’re all in this together.
