Prince Harry‘s triumphant return to royal duty ended with him flat on his back, legs in the air, and one very cheeky goat aiming straight for the family jewels.
The Duke of Sussex, 41, wrapped up his whirlwind UK visit on Saturday (July 11, 2026) with a stop at Scotty’s Little Soldiers’ summer festival at Maxstoke Castle in Warwickshire, where roughly 200 bereaved military children and their families gathered for a day of games, water balloons and, yes, goat yoga.
Harry, never one to sit on the sidelines, charged straight for the animal pen, shouting “Let me in!” before instructor Rosie walked the group through the “downward goat,” this festival’s answer to downward dog.
The prince balanced on one leg, made goat ears with his hands and locked eyes with one of the class’s four-legged instructors. It was all fun and games until he lay back on his mat and let the goats do their thing.
That’s when things went sideways, or rather downward. As several goats clambered across his reclined body, one of them planted a hoof squarely on Harry’s groin, sending him yelping and clutching himself while the crowd cracked up.
“What are you doing?” Harry asked the offending goat, apparently hoping for an explanation. He didn’t get one, but he did get a laugh out of everyone within earshot, himself included.
Whether it counts as a kick or just an unlucky step depends on which outlet you ask, but either way, Harry took the hit like a good sport. He dusted himself off, fed the goats, posed for photos and moved on to the next round of chaos: an inflatable obstacle course and a full-on water balloon ambush from a very determined three-year-old named River.
The goat-yoga mishap capped a jam-packed week for Harry, who launched the Invictus Games‘ one-year countdown in Birmingham, visited sick children at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and reunited with King Charles, Meghan Markle and their kids, Archie and Lilibet, for a private family gathering at Highgrove. He also lost a High Court claim against the Daily Mail‘s publisher earlier in the week, proving it truly was a trip of highs and lows.
During a Q&A with the kids later that day, Harry got personal, revealing that “my dog makes me laugh, my children make me laugh” on hard days, and that his family marks tough anniversaries tied to his late mother with a sweet tradition: “Yes, we do lemon drizzle cake.”
Groin gaffe aside, it was a fittingly Harry way to end the trip: equal parts heart, humor and hooves landing exactly where hooves shouldn’t.
