It’s no Starrbooty sequel, but we’ll take it! Bleecker Street has acquired North American rights to a new, untitled action-comedy from World of Wonder, marking the first theatrical feature from the RuPaul’s Drag Race universe.
Directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray), the film stars multi-Emmy® winner RuPaul as President Judy Gagwell, leading a camp-fueled disaster adventure aboard the Glamazonian Express. Following two train stewardesses who must team up with unlikely allies to prevent a “Stormganza” catastrophe, the film promises outrageous comedy, over-the-top spectacle, and a glitter-soaked send-up of classic disaster movies.
Produced by World of Wonder with principal photography set to begin this fall, the film will hit theaters nationwide in 2026. Should Mama Ru clear some space on her mantle for another award to accompany her Emmys?
