Just in time for June comes a new way to display your Pride. What began as one of the most memorable moments of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16 is now supporting a larger cause. Queer|Art has partnered with fan-favorite queen Megami on a limited-edition T-shirt inspired by her viral “PROTECT QUEER ART” sign, which she revealed during her talent show performance. Available in exchange for a donation starting at $50, the shirt raises funds for Queer|Art’s mission of supporting LGBTQ+ artists across generations and disciplines.

The collaboration transforms a viral meme into a meaningful statement at a time when many queer artists and organizations continue to face funding challenges. “Megami held up that sign at the exact moment mainstream support for queer people and LGBTQ organizations was collapsing,” says Queer|Art Executive Director Río Sofia. “Queer artists are sacred—especially in times like these, when speaking truth to power is brave and necessary.” The shirt, available in black/white and white/pink colorways, is the third release from THE QUEER|ART TEE SHOP, a limited-edition artist series benefiting the organization.

For Megami, whose blend of drag, cosplay, fashion, and activism made her one of Season 16’s breakout stars, the partnership is a fitting extension of the message that first captured viewers’ attention. More than a year after the performance aired, “Protect Queer Art” remains both a rallying cry and a reminder of the importance of supporting the artists who help shape queer culture. You can learn more about the shirt and purchase it on THE QUEER|ART TEE SHOP.
