Season 16’s Plasma, hailed as “The New Broadway Baby of RuPaul’s Drag Race” by BroadwayWorld, just released a video from her upcoming live and deeply personal debut album, Is Miss Thing On? (Live from Joe’s Pub) out on November 7.
The video is for the album’s lead single “That’s Life”, a duet with GRAMMY and Tony-winner (for Some Like It Hot) J. Harrison Ghee, who has the distinction of being the first non-binary actor (along with Alex Newell) to be nominated for and win a Tony in 2024.
Is Miss Thing On? features songs you know and songs you love—including musical theater classics and timeless jazz standards—along with an original track written by Plasma. Recording a live album as a debut is a rarity. In fact, no other RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant has ever released one, but Plasma was born for the task.
