Bodyguard star Richard Madden, 32, plays Elton John‘s manager and first lover, John Reid, in Rocketman.
Madden opened up about what it was like to film a sex scene with the Taron Egerton amid rumors it could be cut to give the film a lower rating.
Richard, who got got naked and filmed sex scenes for both the HBO fantasy epic and the crime drama, said they’re never enjoyable to shoot.
He told The Sun: “Sex scenes are never fun to shoot but I only ever do these things if there’s a real justification for them.”
“This is the first time Elton ever had sex with anyone so that’s why it’s a relevant scene, in terms of his progression.”
Opening with Elton in rehab, the film follows the pop star – real name Reginald Kenneth Dwight – from his humble beginnings in a London suburb to the music studio, worldwide success and the trappings of fame that come along with it.

Taron previously opened up on the “beautiful” sex scene in Rocketman which will show fans the moment that Elton John loses his virginity.
Revealing that he doesn’t “know how much further we could have gone,” Taron admitted that “in the script, this is the scene of Elton losing his virginity and we wanted to try to do that justice.”
“They were falling in love and it’s beautiful because it should be.”
Taron, who stars as the “Your Song” singer in the upcoming biopic, added:
“We didn’t want to play like they were a couple who were eventually going to fall apart, we wanted to play it like two guys in their early twenties who are falling in love and who are incredibly sexually attracted to each other.”
