Richard Simmons‘ brother Lenny has confirmed the larger-than-life fitness guru died of natural causes.
In a statement shared with People magazine, a spokesperson for the Simmons family said that Lenny received a call from the Los Angeles Coroner’s office, informing him that Simmons’ death “was accidental due to complications from recent falls and heart diseases as a contributing factor.”
The representative also confirmed that the toxicology report “was negative other than medication Richard had been prescribed.” Simmons’ family additionally extended their gratitude towards fans for “their outpouring of love and support during this time of great loss.”
