Robert Pattinson and John David Washington have reportedly been cast as the leads in director Christopher Nolan’s next big film project.
Rumors that Nolan’s movie is a “romantic thriller” in the vein of North by Northwest are not confirmed.
Nolan’s next movie, which he has written and will at the very least produce, has already been ambitiously described by Variety as “a massive, innovative action blockbuster” which will be screened in IMAX cinemas upon its release.
Elizabeth Debicki, who is known for her roles in The Cloverfield Paradox and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, will also play a prominent part in the movie, which is being co-produced by Nolan’s frequent creative collaborator and wife Emma Thomas.
Debicki recently earned praise for her work in Steve McQueen's 2018 movie Widows and is expected to reprise her Ayesha role in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy 3, which just gained James Gunn back to the director's chair.
Robert Pattinson will next be seen in Claire Denis‘ High Life and has a pretty packed 2019 schedule ahead of him with The Lighthouse and Waiting for the Barbarians, which are expected to premiere this year.
Warner Bros. will release the film on July 17, 2020, and production is slated to begin this summer.
