Robert Pattinson loves the smell of his daughter and partner, Suki Waterhouse

Robert Pattinson has fully embraced fatherhood since welcoming a child with Suki Waterhouse approximately one year ago. The Batman star shared heartwarming thoughts about his baby daughter during a recent Vogue interview published on January 20.

The actor revealed a newfound understanding of parental instincts, particularly regarding the distinctive scent of newborns.

“I remember people used to be like, ‘Oh, don’t you like the smell of babies?’ but I thought they were just smelling the baby powder,” Pattinson explained. “But then I had a baby, and I was like, ‘my baby smells incredible.'”

The 38-year-old actor noted that “there’s something there” to his daughter’s scent that allows him “to identify her,” and added that “she doesn’t smell like other babies.”

While Pattinson maintains privacy regarding his role as a father, Waterhouse has offered glimpses into their journey as parents. Speaking to British Vogue in August 2024, Waterhouse disclosed that their path to parenthood was intentional.

“No, we really planned it. One day we looked at each other and said, ‘Well, this is as ready as we’re going to be,'” she told the magazine. “I was like, ‘What can make more chaos?'”

The singer recently shared insights into their daily family routine during a December conversation with Today, highlighting a special activity they enjoy together.

“I think just getting the baby. We have a routine of putting her in the swimming pool and jumping in and out of the pool,” Waterhouse shared while speaking with Today. “That’s just always the most fun. End of the day, 5 p.m., we all get in the pool and be silly. It’s amazing.”

An insider revealed to People in October that the engaged pair was thriving in their new roles as parents.

“They are very much in love and happy. They take turns working so one of them can always care for their daughter. Rob’s an amazing dad,” the source said. “They are both great parents and truly enjoy it. They travel together as a family and love to bring their daughter along.”
