NEED TO KNOW
- Selena Gomez kissed Benny Blanco’s toes on the second episode of his podcast Friends Keep Secrets, just days after fans went viral roasting his visibly dirty feet on the debut episode.
- Blanco had already attempted damage control on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, blaming dirty studio floors — then removing his boot to prove his feet were actually clean.
- The internet, predictably, lost its collective mind, with fans divided between defending the couple’s obvious affection and demanding Selena reconsider her life choices.
On the Tuesday, March 3 episode of Benny Blanco‘s new podcast Friends Keep Secrets — co-hosted with Lil Dicky and his wife Kristin Batalucco — Selena Gomez did something that no publicist on earth could have war-gamed in advance. Nearly an hour into the episode, Gomez, seated on the living room floor while Blanco was on the sofa with his foot resting casually on a coffee table, leaned over and kissed his second toe mid-conversation.
Yes. His toe. On camera. For all 415 million of her Instagram followers to eventually witness.

Blanco’s reaction was immediate. “You like that?” he asked, only for Gomez to slap his leg and tell him not to “make it a moment.” Blanco wasn’t having it. “Oh, no. I wasn’t. I liked it. It made me feel good. I love you so much,” he told her.
Sweet? Sure. Unfortunate timing? Absolutely.
The moment landed like a grenade into an internet that had spent the entire previous week absolutely losing it over Blanco’s bare feet. The podcast’s debut episode had already raised eyebrows after Blanco went shoeless on camera and exposed what many viewers described as visibly dirty bare feet — and also, for the record, farted into a microphone and proudly declared, “that was just a little one.” So the bar was already underground. Gomez kissing those same feet managed to somehow dig further.
One fan online called his feet “absolutely heinous.” Another on X was more succinct, writing, “He’s feet still dirty eww they are so NASTY.” A third went fully unhinged: “girl added 415M people her close friends just to urge them to go watch her kissing her ogre husband’s dirty feet, this is so embarrassing.”
The discourse did not stop there. One user wrote, “This is the most disgusting thing,” before adding, “Benny and Selena, the smelliest couple I’ve ever seen.” Others questioned Gomez’s judgment: “I love Selena, but why [did] she set herself up doing this?” Another commenter pushed further, writing, “If she does it in front of everyone, what does she do in private?”
Some critics kept it mercifully brief. “I would tell this to anyone but girl, have some dignity lol,” one fan wrote. “I just feel like you should face some kind of punishment for making me see this,” another added. A third simply stated, “Girl, no. Just no.”

To be fair to Blanco, he had already mounted a defense before the toe-kissing episode even aired. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he addressed the dirty feet controversy head-on. “Okay first of all, it’s the facility’s fault, not mine!” Blanco exclaimed. He then removed his boot and displayed his foot to the audience to prove his cleanliness — a move Kimmel rewarded with the note that Blanco should “get an OnlyFans for that thing.”
Lil Dicky backed him up, explaining, “It was the first day we filmed anything, so crew was coming in and out,” adding that the floors “on that day, were dirty.” So the feet were the floor’s fault. Sure. Fine. Moving on.
Blanco, speaking to his co-hosts, also explained how he struggles to stop himself from publicly expressing his affection for Gomez, saying, “I want to kiss her and jump her bones all the time, so to watch her just kiss my toe just really made my day.”

Gomez, for her part, has been aggressively unbothered throughout the entire saga. One day after Blanco’s dirty feet sparked widespread chatter, she shared a playful video on her Instagram Story showing the couple laughing together in a park before leaning in to kiss him, captioning it by writing that she falls “more and more in love” with him every day.
The couple married in Santa Barbara last September, with guests including Taylor Swift, Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Paul Rudd. It’s safe to say none of those guests anticipated the chapter of the love story that would follow.
Neither Gomez nor Blanco has issued a formal statement addressing the ongoing foot commentary — and honestly, why would they? The podcast is clearly working. Everyone is watching. The feet have done their job.
